Themis Solutions Inc. launches cloud-based practice management platform to support small to medium sized legal practices
Themis Solutions Inc., the creator of Clio, a cloud-based case management platform for SME sized legal practices, has launched its services in Europe. The official announcement was released at the American Bar Association (ABA) International Law 2013 autumn meeting in London today.
Clio is a secure and easy to use web-based practice management tool. It eases the process of practice management, billing, time tracking and administration for small and medium sized law firms and individual practitioners. There are no expensive servers to buy or rent and no need for technical staff to customise or maintain the software. Mobile capabilities are further enhanced through the availability of a native iPhone App and mobile portal for smartphones and tablets. The cloud-based approach allows seamless and secure access to data over the internet.
The company, now celebrating its fifth anniversary, is used by over 20,000 legal professionals. Today’s launch also marks the official opening of its European operations in Dublin, Ireland. This new office provides further support for legal practices operating across multiple jurisdictions - helping them to comply with their respective privacy laws, regulations and bar rules.
Jack Newton, CEO at Clio, explains, “There is an ever increasing pressure faced by European legal firms to efficiently manage their practices in response to new rules and regulations. Clio offers a simple and affordable solution with instant set up, and complies with regional data protection laws. Our tools are ideally suited to those practices that want to gain greater efficiencies and focus on value added services.”
Most practice management solutions available today are based on an expensive enterprise software model. They are designed to be managed and maintained on a single server – at the company’s expense. This contrasts to the operational efficiencies to be gained by using Clio.
In a recent audit, Clio found that its customers are saving more than a day a week in time by using Clio’s cloud-based practice management platform. Early adopters of the service have included practices such as UK based Drayson Law, a five person legal practice specialising in commercial contracts.
Charles Drayson, a Solicitor and founder of Drayson Law, adds, “Clio is a game changer. It’s all online, accessible anywhere and incredibly easy to use. Furthermore, Clio supports our growth and compliance efforts.”
Clio is available worldwide with a choice of data centres in either Europe or the United States.
