BigHand is excited to announce the company have surpassed the one million dictations mark with our BigHand Professional software hosted in the cloud. The BigHand cloud services division was launched only 18 months ago and the strong reception to the Professional Edition has demonstrated an increasing appetite for cloud solutions in the legal and healthcare markets.
Uptake has been strongest in the small and medium firm market where the combination of the subscription pricing model, the minimal infrastructure required, flexible workflow options and mobile productivity benefits are seen as highly advantageous. BigHand now supports over 450 firms in the cloud and the number continues to grow steadily.
The one millionth dictation was sent by one of our global customers, Reading Pediatrics in Reading, Pennsylvania, USA. Reading Pediatrics started using BigHand professional in late January of 2014 and their staff quickly integrated the tool into their daily workflow. In just under three months, they have sent over 11,000 dictations using the BigHand Professional technology. Trisha Taylor, who oversaw the BigHand Professional implementation at Reading Pediatrics said that, “BigHand has made a huge impact on efficiency in our practice. Our practitioners are able to capture notes and details quickly and easily without having to spend hours at the keyboard typing up notes. We are very pleased with our experience with BigHand overall and the implementation could not have gone more smoothly.”

BigHand Professional Edition is designed for firms of up to 30 users and enables dictation from a PC or laptop, any digital dictation device, smartphone or tablet plus a hosted Speech Recognition option. It offers dictation workflow tracking and is available on an annual subscription basis. Return on investment is typically realized within a year when compared to analogue tapes or standalone systems.
