Intapp, a global leader in legal software, today announced that Taylor Vinters has selected Intapp Time to help automate the time recording process for its lawyers and staff. By making time recording more efficient and providing better data to lawyers and management, Taylor Vinters expects Intapp Time to help the firm make more informed decisions related to its business processes, resource allocation and overall matter management.
Intapp Time will replace Taylor Vinters’s legacy time entry tool, which was part of its practice management system, and will be rolled out across its offices in London, Singapore and Cambridge.
Taylor Vinters selected Intapp Time as part of an operations initiative to reengineer business processes to help lawyers work more efficiently. After a full market review, Intapp Time emerged as the clear frontrunner due to its comprehensive approach to time recording and time management, as well as its focus on delivering a great user experience. Key features for lawyers include its intuitive user interface; the ability to passively capture and log billable activity in the background, without disrupting work; and strong support for mobile time entry and mobile time capture, including a native mobile app for BlackBerry 10.
“Lawyers shouldn’t have to spend a lot of time on administrative tasks. We wanted to reduce the time and effort lawyers spend reconstructing their activity, and help them capture a more accurate record of client work as it happens. Intapp Time will help to achieve this while adapting to the way lawyers work,” said Steve Sumner, Director of IT, Taylor Vinters. “The flexibility, the ease of use, and the strong mobile solution were important criteria in selecting Intapp Time over other alternatives.”
Taylor Vinters also plans to use the data recorded by Intapp Time – and the analytics functionality available as part of the total time management solution – to enable fee earners, practice group leaders and firm management to evaluate performance.
“Clients appreciate that we’re constantly looking for more efficient ways to deliver services – and that we’re actively keeping an eye on costs,” said Drew Winlaw, Director of Operational Development, Taylor Vinters. “By providing better visibility into how lawyers are actually spending their time, Intapp Time will enable us to identify areas where we can streamline processes, eliminate unnecessary administrative tasks, and allow lawyers to focus on practising law. We also see Intapp Time playing a role in a more continuous assessment of progress, capacity and performance throughout the lifecycle of a matter.”
“Taylor Vinters has a bold yet pragmatic vision to bring ‘lean’ methodologies to the practice of law. Intapp Time and our 360° approach to time management are perfectly aligned with this vision. We look forward to working closely with Taylor Vinters on implementing Intapp Time and making the most of its advanced analytics capabilities in the future,” said Norm Mullock, Vice President, Revenue Practice, Intapp.
