Expanding on their success within the legal education field in the US and Canada, Clio is now available, gratis, to law schools, legal clinics, and paralegal programs in the UK and Ireland. The Clio Academic Access Program was started in 2010 and now has a presence in over 120 law schools throughout North America.
As more and more firms in the UK are utilising software to manage all areas of their practice, having hands-on experience using these systems allows students to move from school to firm, seamlessly.
The Clio Academic Access Program provides future lawyers and paralegals with practical skills, priming them for joining the workforce. With unique on-boarding packages for classrooms and for legal clinics, Clio is able to customise your students’ experience with the cloud-based system.
Already using practice management software in your legal clinic? The CAAP Team offers free data migrations from legacy systems.
Clio has waived the usual per month/per user subscription fees, allowing schools and clinics entirely free use of the cloud-based system.
Additionally, Clio requires no installation, no contracts and can be accessed on any device with an internet connection, whether it be a laptop, tablet, or smartphone. Clio has even introduced apps for iOS and Android!
For both clinical and classroom use, the Clio Academic Access Program offers free handbooks, assignments and video tutorials to prepare students to use Clio in their educational environment and in actual law practice. The CAAP Team is also happy to provide onsite training and demonstrations to the students and faculty.
Interested in using Clio in your law program? Whether you’re a student, administrator, or educator, please feel free to contact Clio for more information!

Clio's core functionality delivers the tools small- to mid-sized firms need to run their practice: calendaring, time tracking, note-taking, document management, trust accounting, managing retainers, and billing.
