Firmex, a global provider of virtual data rooms (VDRs) and a secure document sharing platform, today released Groups, a new feature that allows project administrators to organize users into a number of intuitive categories with customized folder permissions.
Groups makes it easier for administrators to upload users, establish security settings, and share documents with the peace of mind that sensitive information will only make it to the right collaborators.
The feature works by giving administrators the ability to put users into groups, whether defined by company or other factors, and then letting them assign folder access settings for the whole group. Any time an administrator makes changes to the group’s permissions, the changes are automatically applied to all users in that group, leaving no questions about whether specific individuals have varying levels of access. Administrators can combine users from different companies into one group, change the permissions of multiple users across multiple companies, and divide their own company into two groups with two separate permissions.
“We’re very excited to add Groups to our product offering,” says Joel Lessem, CEO of Firmex. “This is just another way that our VDRs fit easily into the workflows of our users. The end result is not just ease of use, but greater security and peace of mind.”
