North East based law firm Kyles Legal Practice have become yet another firm to seize upon the benefits offered by a hosted solution from DPS. Kyles are no strangers to innovation with the firm being one of the few in the country to employ both barristers and solicitors at board level to form a partnership able to offer their clients a full in-house criminal law service.
The firm view themselves as innovative and have ambitious plans for growth. It is this ambition which emphasised the importance of selecting the right IT platform to support the firm’s efforts to achieve their business goals.
Having reviewed the products available on the market with regards to practice management software Kyles contacted DPS and arranged initial demonstrations of the One Office case management and legal accounting packages. Impressed by these products, in particular DPS Crime and its sophisticated Criminal Billing module, discussions with DPS then covered their DPSCloud hosted solutions through which the software can be delivered to the client along with a full virtual desktop (including Microsoft Office software and email management).
Kyles’ management recognised how this comprehensive approach to meeting both IT infrastructure and legal software requirements offered a cost-effective way to implement enterprise-class systems and give the firm’s staff the tools they require to work at the highest levels of efficiency. Having established the suitability of DPS’s software offerings the further operational benefits of the DPSCloud solution, such as remote working on any device and instant implementation of robust DR procedures, reinforced the feeling that this service was the one best suited to the firm’s needs.
Director Nick Peacock comments: “Criminal law and the firms that practice in it have been subjected to increasing pressures in recent years as funding cuts in general have begun to bite and LASPO comes into force in April 2013. This has made achieving high levels of efficiency essential to running a successful business in this area and also providing the kind of client service we at Kyles aspire to.
“Implementing the best technology solutions within a firm is key to supporting this drive for efficiency and DPS’s ability to offer cutting-edge case management software as well as hosted IT designed specifically for legal businesses really stood out to us when we set out on the process to do just this.”
“Dealing with the team at Kyles Legal Practice has been a productive process right from the first contact through to today with the firm already starting to reap the benefits of a DPSCloud solution” says James Drew, DPS’s Northern Area Sales Manager. “They quickly grasped exactly what the service could offer the firm and how it could support the working processes required for business growth.”
