Hugh Jones Solicitors opts for SOS Connect

One of the UK’s leading independent Court of Protection specialists has signed up to SOS Connect legal software just six months after its launch. Hugh Jones Solicitors was set up earlier this year by Hugh Jones and Rachel Dobson, who were both partners in the Court of Protection team at leading law firm Pannone.

The firm is the sole independent Court of Protection specialist in the North of England, working with vulnerable people, especially those with mental incapacity, their families and advisers, and also provides a range of private client services.

Now, having already grown to a 22-strong team at its office in Manchester, Hugh Jones Solicitors has undergone a conversion from the legal software system which had been in use at Pannone to SOS Connect, from Solicitors Own Software (SOS).

“As a new firm we wanted to look for something more intuitive and straightforward to use than the legal software system we had been used to,” says director Rachel Dobson.

“Our main requirement was for a document management system along with some case management capabilities, and we found that SOS Connect was ideal for the task because only a small amount of adaptation was required to what we already had in place.

“For obvious reasons there were a large number of files which needed transferring over and the SOS team had no problem in being able to accommodate this. We are at the stage where we have no in-house IT support, so again SOS has been very supportive throughout the process.

“We have already enjoyed considerable exponential growth and we anticipate there will be more, so it is good to know that the flexibility offered by SOS Connect means that we can begin to launch some new offerings to clients, for example in the area of conveyancing.”
