Start-up firm Berwick Law has opted for the Virtual Practices (VP) hosted legal software and outsourced cashiering service for document management and time recording. Experienced construction lawyer Warren Berwick set up his Birmingham-based firm last year, after several years as a partner with law firm Kennedys.
Warren now specialises in advising construction firms in the areas of procurement, contracts and disputes, as well as working in the fields of renewable energy and insolvency.
“I already knew exactly what I needed when I launched Berwick Law and soon found Virtual Practices online,” he says.
“I had a virtual demonstration of the system and realised that it was exactly what I wanted, particularly the capacity to store documents safely.
“Virtual Practices will be able to ‘grow’ with me when the time is right to bring in new people, and I am looking forward to being able to exploit more of its capabilities in due course.”
Natalie Jennings, who heads up Virtual Practices, which is a division of legal software supplier Solicitors Own Software, said: “Freed of the burden of having to purchase and run software in-house, VP allows start-up firms such as Berwick Law to get on with the ‘day job’ of developing their practice.”
