Midlands law firm Wright Hassall is investing £550,000 into its IT infrastructure as part of expansion plans for the coming year. The investment will see the company’s data storage capabilities substantially increased and the installation of a new Client Relationship Management (CRM) system.
A new phone system, the Shoretel, which has been developed in conjunction with Solar Communications Ltd, will replace the previous Nortel Meridian system. It will provide better conference call hosting including screen sharing, call recording, instant messaging and integration with a number of existing IT systems.
A new ‘converged infrastructure’ called Cisco Flexpod will help secure Wright Hassall’s computer requirements for the next four years, providing the firm with 146 terabytes of raw storage and all the servers they need through VMWare.
The new industry standard InterAction CRM system will assist in the pro-active management of client relationships. It will enable the firm to track the relationship between contacts and related business development activities, identify cross-selling opportunities, and manage events and mailings more effectively.
Richard Lane, Wright Hassall’s managing partner, said: “The investment we have put into our IT infrastructure is an integral part of our plans for expansion in 2014.
“Having recorded a very strong business performance in 2013, we are now putting in place the necessary upgrades to our systems to ensure we continue that progression. These new and improved systems will enable us to maintain the high quality of service and delivery we are able to offer clients and provide considerable scope and capacity for future growth.
“Cisco Flexpod has also been implemented at our disaster recovery site, providing us with a robust solution to support the business continuity demands of our clients expect us to have in place. It’s a good example of how we are always looking for effective ways of ensuring our IT systems support the needs of our client base.”
Wright Hassall has a 230-strong team including 100 solicitors and 36 partners. Established in 1846, it’s a full service commercial law firm advising corporates, SMES, not-for-profit and public sector organisations.
