Luminance, the leading AI platform for the legal profession, has been awarded ‘Best AI Start-Up’ at The AIconics 2018, held at Kensington Palace last night.
In partnership with Microsoft and Imperial College London, The AIconics celebrate the best in breed of artificial intelligence. An esteemed panel of judges comprised of companies including Atomico, BNP Paribas and Innovate UK selected Luminance for its sophisticated AI technology, rapid growth and innovative approach to contract review.
“We are delighted to take home the award for ‘Best AI Start-Up’ in a competitive category at this year’s AIconics,” said Emily Foges, CEO of Luminance. “Our continued recognition by market-leading organisations is testament to the impact our technology is having on the legal profession. With almost 100 customers across 26 countries and five continents, including ten of The Global 100 law firms, Luminance is truly revolutionising contract review processes around the world.”
Developed by mathematicians from Cambridge University, Luminance automatically reads, compares and analyses the contents of a large data room, giving lawyers an instant view of the size and complexity of the transaction. Its unique ability to spot anomalies and unusual clauses can highlight documents of potential concern, giving lawyers the ability to prioritise their work more effectively.
Luminance has almost 100 customers in 26 countries across five continents since launching in September 2016, including ten of The Global 100 law firms. The company was also recently awarded ‘Startup Tech Company of the Year’ at the prestigious National Technology Awards, recognising Luminance’s exceptional growth and advanced machine learning platform.
