Tikit Carpe Diem Announces new Compliance and Security Functionality

Tikit, part of the BT Group and leading provider of technology solutions for law and professional services firms, today announced that its flagship Carpe Diem time recording platform has added rule awareness and validation features to further comply with client engagement terms such as Outside Counsel Guidelines (OCG).

Carpe Diem is configurable for all industry standard validation rules (i.e., timekeepers, dates, values, etc.) as well as third party validation, a mechanism that can attach any validation rule to the “save” or “submit” process in Carpe Diem. In addition, the validation can return customizable messages to the user.

Carpe Diem provides the ability to attach relevant OCG commentary/notes against any input fields that make up a time entry. As a web application, the entire OCG policy can be referenced within the timekeeping entry form regardless of its location.

As a real world example, Carpe Diem has direct integration with ebilling rules (via Elite’s eBilling Hub) allowing the firm to validate in real time on every “save” or “submit” of a time entry. This integration ensures better ebilling compliance early on at the timekeeping stage.

“Modern timekeeping needs to simultaneously address compliance and improved revenue intake meaning delivering usability and validation to the end users at the right time and in the right dosage,” stated Peter Zver, President, Tikit North America.

“The fact that compliance is now being moved to the start of the transaction cycle puts more pressure on time recording to comply while maintaining revenue fluidity. Firms are not only expecting busy professionals to account for their time properly, they also need them to comply with client engagement terms such as Outside Council Guidelines (OCG) at the point of entry,” concluded Zver.

Integrated third party validation improves compliance, reduces risk and improves cash flow. Finance teams can track and reduce the lag between activity, time-capture, billing and cash. This functionality also means firms can quickly generate real-time billing and work-in-progress reports that give clients more confidence in the firm and enrich the client relationships.

In addition, Carpe Diem complies with the highest security standards and is a MobileIron AppConnect-enabled iOS application. This provides Carpe Diem all the benefits of being resident in a MobileIron protected secure container.
