eSentio Technologies, a leading US based Legal Consulting and Implementation company focusing on the world’s largest law firms, has announced expansion of their UK operations and strategic initiatives in the United Kingdom.
eSentio are well known in the US market for their very strong on-going relationships with large law firms which gives them unique insight into the key strategic challenges such firms face. While eSentio has undertaken significant high profile UK work in the past several years, they had been known as a US based company. This announcement emphasizes eSentio’s commitment to bringing the full breadth of its services and capability to the UK and Europe.
Central to this commitment is the appointment of Simon Elven as eSentio’s first Director of UK Operations. Elven, who joined eSentio in December 2020, is highly respected within the UK legal technology community having been a key part of Tikit’s management team for many years, serving as both Director of Professional Services and Commercial and Marketing Director. Along with the Director of UK Operations role, eSentio strengthened the team in the UK with the appointment of a Senior Project Manager, Paul Higgins, who himself has extensive experience of the UK legal market. Higgins served as head of IT for a top 50 UK law firm, as head of consultancy at BigHand and managed large, complex projects for a variety of law firms including, recently, the migration of document management systems to the cloud.
Yvonne Dornic, eSentio’s CEO, stated “We have always viewed our expansion into the UK as core to our strategic plans. Prior to launching into the UK, we consulted with several CIOs of Magic Circle Firms and received a very warm reception, great advice and lots of encouragement to bring eSentio’s unique capabilities and value proposition to the UK market.” Dornic further explains that she quickly learned that “eSentio’s blend of strategic consulting expertise and deep technical depth combined with our product independence is unique in the UK market and highly valued by large law firm leaders.” Prior to the pandemic eSentio was awarded several high profile UK projects and Dornic and her team spent considerable time in the UK including the relocation of one of their Directors to London. While the projects continued successfully through the pandemic and the relocated resource remained in London, the in-person visits and monthly flights to London and further expansion were put on hold temporarily. “With the recognition that 2021 would see the world opening up again we started working closely with Simon at the end of last year. It has been incredibly useful to have had the benefit of his knowledge and experience over the last nine months and we have been delighted that he has been able to be practically involved with a number of our live projects. The time is now right to formalize our commitment to the UK market, and it is great to have Simon on board to lead that charge.”
“I’m delighted to have this opportunity to consolidate and grow eSentio’s presence in the UK market” commented Elven. “eSentio has an enviable reputation in the AMLAW 200 as well as an extensive network of CIO-level relationships. Having now worked directly with the team here, and its clients, it is clear to me that eSentio has both formidable technical expertise and a deep understanding of what it takes to run successful projects in the largest global firms. eSentio has some attributes that make it truly unique in the UK market and I’m really excited to be able bring this capability to a wider audience here. It’s a privilege to help drive the growth of such an innovative team and one that clearly puts the client’s interest at the heart of everything they do.”
With eSentio firmly established in the UK, Elven will be working to further grow both the capacity of the UK team and bring the benefits of the eSentio approach to a wider audience of UK and European firms.
