Workshare has today announced that it has integrated with HP’s iManage to provide users with full collaboration features for increased productivity and version control. This is the latest in a series of integrations the company has made into popular Enterprise Content Management (ECM) and Document Management Systems (DMS) to create a unique, end-to-end solution for secure collaboration from any device.
The integration will allow legal firms and corporate counsels to collaborate with teams and external parties without leaving the secure Workshare and iManage environment, satisfying IT’s need for complete data security and control.
Through the integration, Workshare will enable IT to have complete control and visibility over how users collaborate, maintaining a full audit trail even once a file has been “checked out” of iManage and collaborated on outside of the DMS. IT can also enforce corporate data policy by choosing data location options and, for the highest levels of security, ensure data is retained on-premise by selecting Workshare’s hybrid deployment option.
Workshare brings its full set of collaboration capabilities and allows users to create, edit, and sync documents between iManage and any device. Collaborators can also share, review, comment, and compare versions of a document to see what changes have been made from any device. Workshare’s annotation features also allow users to make notes and comments on documents. These can then be synchronized with iManage, keeping everyone informed on the latest updates.
Recent research by analyst firm Enterprise Strategy Group (ESG) shows that interest in an “aggregator service” – a single access and management interface for multiple file storage technologies – is significant. “With 9 out of 10 respondents interested in a service that seamlessly and securely consolidates mobile access to managed documents from multiple repositories, Workshare is clearly satisfying a solid market need with this innovation,” commented Terri McClure, senior analyst at ESG.
Anthony Foy, CEO of Workshare, commented, “IT within legal firms and those serving corporate counsel are under great pressure to leverage the investments they have made in IT infrastructure and to maintain control over today’s increasingly mobile workforce. This integration addresses these issues head on and gives IT the visibility and control needed to mitigate risks associated with mobile collaboration. With this agnostic approach, Workshare closes the loop on mobile collaboration and lets attorneys work the way they want.”
Workshare will be providing demos of the iManage integration at LegalTech 2014 New York. To find out more, visit the Workshare team at booth #334.
