Four law firms recognized for innovation and thought leadership in the Aderant user community
Aderant, the world’s largest independent legal software company, announced the winners of the 2014 Bridge Awards at its annual user conference, Momentum, last week in Miami. Each year, Aderant recognizes select firms or individuals within the Aderant user community for exemplary work in areas such as talent, innovation, support, and thought leadership.
This year’s Bridge Award winners include Butler Rubin Saltarelli & Boyd LLP, Goldberg Segalla, Maples and Calder, and Michelle Martinez at Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart, P.C.
The Newcomer of the Year Bridge Award recognizes outstanding new members of the Aderant user community that are using technology to make a significant impact in their firm. This year, the award was presented to Butler Rubin Saltarelli & Boyd LLP. Butler Rubin realized the opportunity to improve the firm’s finance operations by implementing a holistic approach to upgrading their technology involving a new workflow-enabled practice management platform (Aderant Expert), docketing system (CompuLaw), and business intelligence analytics (Expert ClearView).
Michelle Martinez, docketing administrator at Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart, P.C., received the Advocate of the Year Bridge Award, which recognizes a firm or individual within the Aderant user community who goes above and beyond in supporting Aderant within the legal and professional services industries. Martinez leads the CompuLaw National User Group and participated in numerous events to promote Aderant’s CompuLaw product and the Aderant Momentum 2014 conference.
Aderant presented the Innovator of the Year Bridge Award to Goldberg Segalla, one of the fastest growing law firms in the U.S. The firm’s culture of innovation and commitment to best practices position them on the cutting-edge of leveraging technology. Goldberg Segalla’s visionary approach toward implementing technology enabled them to deliver the agility, efficiency, and productivity needed to fuel their aggressive growth.
The Client of the Year Bridge Award recognizes a firm that exhibits high standards of business practices, achieves business goals mutually, and contributes significantly to the industry. This year, Aderant awarded Maples and Calder, an Aderant Expert client in the Cayman Islands. The firm is a long-time client of Aderant and a regular early adopter of new Aderant technology. In 2010, Maples and Calder assisted Aderant in providing input and product reviews, and in 2014 rolled out Expert Time, Found Time, and soon On the Go Time globally to all offices within the firm. Throughout these implementations Maples and Calder provided Aderant considerable collaboration, effort, and insight, which directly and positively impacted product development.
“The legal industry is experiencing a time of incredibly rapid change and many firms have not only survived, but thrived in this challenging environment,” comments Chris Giglio, chief executive officer at Aderant. “At Aderant, we want to recognize and reward members of our client community who exhibit excellence in the midst of these changes. The Bridge Awards acknowledge the firms and individuals who are paving the way for their peers during this critical season in the legal sector.”
Giglio continues, “Along with the firms who receive awards, we also want to thank all of our clients for their support throughout the year. These partnerships are extremely valuable to Aderant and have a direct impact on the future of our products.”
The Momentum User Conference drew a record 349 clients from 10 countries for a two-and-a-half day event held at The Loews Miami Beach May 11-14. A sold-out vendor hall of 19 companies also participated. Attendees were able to choose from more than 160 sessions over 12 tracks where they were able to learn more about and contribute to roundtables on Aderant products, advice from peers and experts on best practices, and key industry topics.
