Rocket Matter, the premier total law firm management software in the cloud, today announces email integration with desktop-based Outlook in their recent “USS Enterprise” release. The plugin installs locally on PC-based computers and works with versions of Outlook 2007 onward.
Rocket Matter’s Outlook integration is the third type of email integration provided by the cloud-based legal software, after IMAP synchronization and the ability to upload emails through a drag-and-drop interface. Users can associate a Rocket Matter case and billable time or costs with an Outlook email directly in the desktop application. Emails containing attachments will automatically have those files uploaded to Rocket Matter’s cloud servers and will be accessible through the legal software’s web interface.
“We’re excited to be able to offer our law firms the ability to work with one of their most relied-upon software tools in Outlook,” says Larry Port, CEO of Rocket Matter. “Outlook plugin technology is now in a place that we’re happy with: we can deploy automatic updates like we can with our web-based product and not worry about cumbersome installs.”
Rocket Matter’s email integration is the first step in a comprehensive Outlook package that will seamlessly allow law firms to work with Rocket Matter and their preferred desktop application effortlessly and intuitively. It’s also the company’s first foray into PC-based software, which until now has been exclusively focused on web, iPhone, and Android offerings.
Law firms using Exchange Server can leverage Rocket Matter’s Outlook integration as well. Since the communication occurs between Rocket Matter and the Outlook client application, any information synched with Exchange server can be uploaded to the Rocket Matter cloud.
