National Legal Technology Firm Expands Law Firm Cyber Security and Compliance Management Resources

In an effort to help law firms improve security, remain compliant and guard against cyber‐attacks, Accellis Technology Group, one of the nation’s leading providers of Managed IT Services and Legal Technology Consulting, has announced the launch of its Security and Compliance Consulting service department.

This program is uniquely designed around the specific security needs of the legal industry. “Law firms and business law departments have become prime targets for cyber‐attacks and security breaches. Most firms, especially those in the small to mid‐sized range, still do not fully understand the risks and implications of failing to adequately protect their company information and networks. Cyber threats to the legal industry are expanding daily and our new program delivers the training, technology and services to best protect them,” states Joseph Marquette, President of Accellis Technology Group.

As part of this roll‐out, Accellis has expanded its security team with the hiring of Jeremiah Sorbera to head the new department. Jeremiah brings extensive knowledge of information technology and security to the company. He will be responsible for analyzing client networks and delivering penetration testing, security assessments, security audits and employee training to the company’s law firm clients.

Prior to joining Accellis, Jeremiah worked as an Information Technology Specialist for the United States Navy where he performed real time security monitoring, intrusion detections, cyber security assessments, penetration testing and security training. Jeremiah is a Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Certified Information System Auditor (CISA), and Comp TIA A+, Network+ and Security+ certified.

Accellis’ new Security and Compliance Consulting services include:

• Risk Assessment – Identify potential business implications of security threats and how they can be remediated to improve compliance and longevity.
• IT Security & Compliance Audit – A comprehensive review of an organization’s procedures, documentation, physical network and any resource that may impact security.
• Penetration Testing – A proactive way to evaluate the security of a network by safely attempting to exploit system vulnerabilities.
• Security Training – Training designed to increase awareness among law firm staff ensure company guidelines and security procedures are being followed.
