kCura Releases Relativity 9 with an Updated UI and Cross-browser, Cross-platform Support
Global News

kCura logokCura, developers of the e-discovery software Relativity, today announced Relativity 9 in front of more than 1,100 attendees at their annual user conference, Relativity Fest. Available to the general public on November 14, Relativity 9 maintains the software’s existing usability while providing an updated interface and improved user experience made up of more than 120 new features since the last release of Relativity in June of this year.

At Relativity Fest, Andrew Sieja—kCura’s founder and CEO—announced and demoed the following highlights:

  • Cross-browser and cross-platform compatibility that fully supports the latest versions of Internet Explorer, Safari, and Chrome. Additionally, users can access and run Relativity on a Mac or Windows machine.
  • A zero-footprint viewer that doesn’t require downloads, plug-ins, or installations. Additional benefits include a new thumbnail viewer, several new display modes, and the ability to publish documents to Relativity Binders directly from the viewer for quicker access to documents on the go.
  • Relativity Data Grid , a NoSQL data store that allows users to horizontally distribute long text and audit data from SQL Server to a horizontally scalable data store—significantly reducing infrastructure costs, making it easier to manage large databases, and massively increasing the size of cases that can be run. Additionally, Relativity audits nearly every user action—from document views to searches to coding decisions—and Data Grid makes it easier to visualize and drill into this rich audit history to easily understand user and system activity at a glance.

  • Additional new features that improve the complete Relativity stack , including new reports in Relativity Legal Hold and Relativity Collection, faster processing speeds and more control in Relativity Processing, enhanced foreign language identification in Relativity Analytics, and integration with MobileIron for additional enterprise-level security in Relativity Binders.

“Our goal for this release was to lay a powerful technology groundwork for the future by providing our customers with some of their most requested features and allowing Relativity to address larger-than-ever data volumes—all while maintaining the usability our customers have come to expect,” said Sieja. “We’re excited to share more details with our customers and get their feedback throughout Relativity Fest.”
