After its recent acquisition of Responsive Data Services (RDS), Advanced Discovery has decided to combine the best of both companies’ proprietary ECA tools. RDS’s software, Xpress Powered by Relativity, placed in the top 10 most innovative technologies at Relativity Fest in October 2014.
Advanced Discovery’s own proprietary app, FirstLook, had similar functionality. Xpress and FirstLook are now merged into a software utility called XpressLook.
XpressLook compresses the time between the receipt of data from clients and its visibility to attorneys. To do this, it makes only the essential data, metadata and extracted text available initially. With this information loaded into a single Relativity database, attorneys can perform the analysis activities available in Relativity along with the expanded functions exclusive to XpressLook.
XpressLook uses Relativity’s triggers, pivots and views to parse metadata details into multiple views for deeper insight and informed decision making. Its privilege log normalization streamlines the tedious and potentially error filled task of assembling custodian names from multiple data sources. Custodian priority management delivers the speed and cost savings of global deduplication while it captures details about each instance of a document, giving you flexibility in your productions.
The primary purpose of the tool is to expedite the analysis of large data sets to cull them into more manageable sets of documents that will be reviewed for possible production. Data processing and hosting cost reduction are byproducts of this process improvement. XpressLook promotes the native copies of documents into the database only after culling, thereby reducing both processing and hosting fees. Users may also promote native copies into the database ad hoc with the native-on-the-fly function.
“We are already getting great results from the new merged app. We just had a rush project come in, and we worked in XpressLook with the attorneys to pinpoint their review set quickly. They found their hot docs early on and used them to begin strategizing,” said Chris Cameron, VP of Client Services. “Our project management team is excited about this tool because it provides more transparency for clients, putting control into their hands. We expect XpressLook to be a game changer.”
The merged software offering is available immediately for projects originating in the company’s main data centers in Washington, DC and Lenexa, Kansas. To see this innovate technology in action, contact Advanced Discovery at 866-342-DATA.
