ALM’s Legaltech News (formerly Law Technology News) has announced that Erin Harrison will take over as editor-in-chief of the newly rebranded publication, effective February 2, 2015. Harrison joins Legaltech News from her position as Associate Publisher/Editor-In-Chief at InsideCounsel, a legal publication included in ALM’s acquisition of Summit Professional Networks in January.
“This is an exciting time of expansion and growth for ALM as an organization and for Legaltech News in particular,” said David Brown, ALM vice president & editor-in-chief. “Erin brings with her a wealth of professional experience and exciting new ideas that are going to help us build the brand as it re-launches in the market. She’s a perfect cultural fit for Legaltech News given her similar role at InsideCounsel and we are very pleased to have her join the team.”
Before stepping into the editor-in-chief position at InsideCounsel, Harrison spent four years as executive editor at Technology Marketing Corporation, the world’s largest communications and technology business-to-business media company. Prior to that, she served as editor-in-chief at United Publishing & Media where she was responsible for managing the editorial direction and focus of Executive Decision magazine, a bi-monthly, business-to-business magazine with a readership of more than 150,000 senior-level executives. Harrison replaces former editor-in-chief of Legaltech News, Monica Bay, who is retiring.
Her first order of business in her new role will be to moderate the Day One Keynote panel at ALM’s LegalTech New York, the largest and most prestigious legal technology event in the world, which takes place from February 3-5, 2015, at The Hilton New York in midtown Manhattan. Harrison will moderate a panel of top legal executives from Microsoft, Twitter, Tumblr, Facebook and Google as they tackle subjects related to cybersecurity, privacy and data protection legal challenges in the digital age.
