Global News

EDRM logoNewest EDRM resource offers guidelines for processing data as part of the e-discovery life cycle

EDRM, the leading standards organization for the e-discovery market, announces the release of a new EDRM Data Processing Standards Guide. The draft, published on the EDRM website, is open for public comment until March 17, after which time input will be reviewed and considered for incorporation before the new guide is finalized.

At some point in nearly every e-discovery life cycle, it is necessary to “process” data from an electronic storage device into a database so the data may be used in subsequent e-discovery steps. This guide – meant to be software agnostic – is designed to help the professional ask the right questions and be knowledgeable about the tools available.

The EDRM Processing Standards Guide, written by experienced practitioners, establishes a set of basic standards for processing various types of data for e-discovery. The team of EDRM members responsible for creating the new Processing Standards Guide includes:

  • Greg Houston, kCura, principal author
  • Julie Brown, Vorys, Sater, Seymour & Pease LLP
  • Adrienne Johnson
  • Ralph Rostas
  • Ashley Smith
  • Tiana Van Dyk, Burnet, Duckworth & Palmer LLP

The EDRM community thanks these members for their active participation in this important initiative.
