Five major law firms received Aderant’s highest client awards at the Aderant Momentum Conference, held in New Orleans on April 20-23. The world’s largest independent legal software company, Aderant recognizes select firms each year for exemplary innovation, collaboration and application of best practices in legal technology.
This year’s winners included Lindquist & Vennum, Archer & Greiner, Greene Espel, Shipman & Goodwin and Holland & Hart.
Lindquist & Vennum LLP earned the Firm of the Year Award for their longstanding record of innovation, continuous improvement and collaboration. Already a winner of various industry accolades this year, the firm serves in various Product Innovation Committees (PICs) and regularly provides early adoption testing for new Aderant solutions. Forward-thinking and enthusiastic, Lindquist is a recognized industry leader in the adoption of new technology.
“Lindquist is pleased to partner with Aderant in implementing technologies that drive value and reduce inefficiencies,” stated Suzette Allaire, Chief Operating Officer at Lindquist & Vennum. “These cost effective and innovative technologies allow our lawyers to work more efficiently to deliver value for our clients. Aderant’s commitment to developing and investing in these technologies has resulted in a great partnership that mutually benefits both organizations.”
New Jersey firm Archer & Greiner P.C. received the Innovator of the Year Award, which recognizes firms for making a significant contribution to the industry by uniquely addressing a problem or improving a situation. An Aderant user for many years, Archer & Greiner launched an initiative in 2014 to increase attorney visibility into key financial metrics using the Expert ClearView business intelligence suite. Collaborating with Aderant Professional Services, Archer & Greiner changed the way it monitored the financial side of their business by creating a set of actionable dashboards for its attorneys.
Stacey Sinclair, Chief Operating Officer at Archer & Greiner commented, “Aderant ClearView provides us with the tools and flexibility to not only better analyze our metrics, but to design dashboards for every timekeeper at every level, providing daily access to information they need to better shape their decisions.”
Forward thinking and positioned for tremendous growth, Greene Espel PLLP received the Newcomer of the Year Award for possessing the vision and energy to make a real impact on the industry. Selected from among more than 57 major firms joining the Aderant family this year, the Minnesota-based firm collaboratively managed an excellent implementation of Aderant Expert built on best practices and utilizing a disciplined project management plan.
“Greene Espel PLLP is delighted to receive Aderant’s Newcomer of the Year Award,” commented the firm’s Chief Operating Officer Laura J. Broomell, CLM. “Focused on change management, Greene Espel selected Aderant Expert to help us more effectively manage internal financial processes and to obtain more sophisticated means of analyzing our many types of custom fee arrangements. Our firm always aims to offer our clients true value, along with transparency and predictability. Aderant has increased our ability to deliver for our clients, and we look forward to continuing this good work with Aderant.”
Aderant presented two Better Together Awards, recognizing both Holland & Hart LLP and Shipman & Goodwin LLP for exemplary collaboration with Aderant. One of the first firms to go-live on Aderant Expert more than 20 years ago, Shipman & Goodwin was the first firm to implement the new Collections module. The nearly 100 year-old firm has been an eager early adopter of Aderant products, contributing to the future of Aderant solutions by participating in various PICs and collaborating in other ways over the years.
“We were very surprised Shipman & Goodwin won the Better Together Award,” commented Jake Fournier, the firm’s Financial Database Analyst who accepted the award along with Linda Buckland, Director of Finance. “But we were thrilled since we came to Momentum 2015 because of deepening our partnership with Aderant this year. That relationship—formed at previous Momentums—fostered the plan for us to come down and present at Momentum on our Collections implementation, so it was sort of a culmination.”
Holland & Hart also received a Better Together Award for their invaluable contributions to the business intelligence PIC. A true power user of both Aderant Expert and CompuLaw, Holland & Hart represents the leading edge of technology and are true to their core operating value of Teamwork, extending that value to their relationship with Aderant as well.
“One of our goals at Aderant is to be an empowering force for the legal industry—helping firms realize they have the power to change and don’t have to feel stuck with status quo,” comments Chris Giglio, Chief Executive Officer of Aderant. “We want to recognize and reward members of the Aderant community who exhibit leadership and excellence in bringing about change. The Aderant Client Awards acknowledge the firms and individuals who are paving the way for their peers during this critical season in the legal sector.”
“Choosing these awards is always a difficult process,” Giglio continued. “We work with so many fantastic law firms that it’s hard to decide who to recognize each year. And because change is essential for growth, I’m grateful to all of our clients for their support and allowing Aderant to partner with them to drive change in the industry.”
Turnout for Momentum 2015 reached record heights, with a 34% increase in attendance over last year’s conference. Law firm professionals from 11 countries came together for the two-and-a-half day event held at The Hyatt Regency in New Orleans. Firms attended 138 sessions from 13 different tracks, including product training, best practices, peer-to-peer sharing and roundtable discussions on key industry issues.
