DAC Beachcroft chooses BigHand to improve Document Production Times

BigHand, a leading technology company, has been selected by DAC Beachcroft LLP as the supplier to replace their existing voice solution.  Over the next three years, the firm will roll out BigHand’s Digital Dictation and Speech Recognition technology to 2,200 members of staff.

The firm’s decision to replace its existing voice technology solution is part of a larger shift to a more streamlined and cost-effective way of working.  With BigHand’s technology, the firm’s fee earners are able to delegate and track their tasks more easily and secretarial and Document Production Units (DPUs) will be able to work more efficiently.  BigHand were first choice out a number of providers due to their strong reputation in the legal market, award-winning technology and excellent customer service.

With BigHand’s technology, DACB will be able to work smarter in a number of ways.  The core Digital Dictation technology will allow fee earners to specify which team should complete each new task, and when, with task priority and due by date functionality.  Fee earners will be able to send Dictations to the BigHand Speech Recognition platform for automatic transcription, saving hours of valuable secretarial time and freeing them up to focus on higher value tasks.  Additionally, with BigHand Speech Recognition, file-notes and client correspondence letters can be transcribed automatically and will only need proof-reading before being approved saved or send out to the client. 

The overall result is a much slicker and more cost effective process than before.  Jeffrey Ng, Operations Director at DAC Beachcroft LLP, explains: “By unifying and empowering our secretarial pools, we have confidence that work is being directed to the right place in the most efficient way possible.  Unlike our previous system, combining Speech Recognition with intelligent work-routing means documents are drafted and ready for review by the time they reach the secretaries or DPUs.  This saves a lot of transcription time and secretarial effort.”
