Automated Scanning and Routing Fits Neatly into Firm’s Processes
nQueue, the leading provider of cost recovery and document scanning and routing technology, today announced that law firm Seyfarth Shaw LLP has licensed its iA Scan Manager powered by iA Route to support the firm’s innovative “Less Paper” initiative.
iA Scan Manager powered by iA Route allows firms to reduce paper troves by combining a simple user interface with a powerful document-routing platform for a tightly integrated scanning solution.
Seyfarth’s “Less Paper” initiative is designed to reduce the firm’s cost and environmental impact. “We are reducing our real estate footprint by one-third, even while the firm is growing,” said Andrew D. Jurczyk, Chief Information Officer at Seyfarth. The effort includes all-digital document retention and a policy change to scan and store all documents electronically rather than sending them to an offsite storage facility. “We expect to see a substantial cost reduction from reduced real estate and offsite storage costs,” added Jurczyk.
The firm chose nQueue’s iA Scan Manager powered by iA Route because it delivers the same interface and workflow to the attorneys’ personal scanning stations, high speed scanners and scanning services in the mail room. Users can instantly OCR the document, select their desired file format and route it directly to the proper location on the firm’s document management system. “iA Scan Manager powered by iA Route fits right into our existing processes and workflows,” added Jurczyk.
Seyfarth is one of the world’s most process-oriented law firms. As part of this philosophy, the firm has built detailed processes maps for more than 500 matter types. “iA Scan Manager powered by iA Route was built to support a detailed process and workflow,” said John Gilbert, Senior Vice President at nQueue. “Firms like Seyfarth can leverage it to fit within their own processes and initiatives.”
As part of the initiative, Seyfarth will also install nQueue’s iA Embedded, which supports the firm’s green initiative, and iA Print Manger in order to manage and recover costs from local prints, which are still a significant expense at the firm. iA Print Manager is a highly configurable application that enables a firm to capture all data related to its printing. It offers tight integration with time-and-billing systems, including account code validation, processing, reporting and posting.
