BigHand, a leading international software company, today announced the appointment of Ian Churchill as Chief Executive Officer. Since 2000 Ian has worked exclusively in the software sector initially with Northgate Information Solutions plc and latterly with the Capita Group plc, as Managing Director of a number of software businesses with revenues in excess of £150 million.
He has always focused on the provision of high quality customer service together with the development of market leading solutions which have driven impressive sales and profit growth. Jon Ardron, BigHand’s CEO for the past six years, will be retiring from his executive role but will remain with the business as a non-executive Director.
Ian Churchill commented “I am delighted to be joining BigHand at such an exciting point in the company’s history. The new products, together with the market leading established lines and high growth SaaS platform combine to present a great opportunity to take the business to new heights. I look forward to working with the BigHand team and our customers to continue the growth of the business.”
Graham Gilbert, BigHand's Chairman commented “I am delighted to welcome Ian to BigHand and am confident that, with all his experience of growing software businesses, he is just the right person to build on Jon's legacy.
On behalf of the Board I would like to thank Jon for his contribution to the business. Jon has been an incredibly successful CEO, transforming the company from a single product entity focused primarily on the UK to the truly multinational, multi product software business BigHand is today. Jon leaves BigHand in rude health and with a strategy in place to deliver many more years of profitable expansion.”
Jon Ardron commented “My successor Ian has an impressive track record, and I am looking forward to working with him during the transition process, before I take up a non-executive Directorship on BigHand’s Board.”
