Inaugural E-Discovery Day Promotes Awareness and Education as 2015 FRCP Amendments Take Effect
EDRM, the leading standards organization for the e-discovery market, announced today that it will host and participate in several events for E-Discovery Day on December 1, 2015.
E-Discovery Day, launched as an industrywide initiative aimed at promoting e-discovery awareness and education, will be filled with a variety of webcasts covering the latest in e-discovery trends, best practices and relevant topics. These webcasts will bring together a diverse lineup of professionals, including many well-known e-discovery industry thought leaders.
“E-discovery is going to be with us for the long haul, which means that all of us working to resolve disputes need to improve our e-discovery IQ,” says George Socha, co-founder of EDRM. “The webinars and other events on E-discovery Day offer us a great opportunity to do just that.”
EDRM will sponsor, host and provide speakers for several E-Discovery Day sessions:
- Taking Advantage of the New FRCP E-Discovery Amendments (December 1, 2015 - 10 a.m. PST / 1 p.m. EST) - The proposed FRCP e-discovery amendments will become effective December 1, 2015. These new rules are designed to dramatically reduce e-discovery costs. In this webcast hosted by Exterro, Federal District Court Judge Xavier Rodriguez, Craig Ball and EDRM’s George Socha will discuss how to take advantage of the new rules to mitigate risk and reduce e-discovery spend. This session offers one CLE credit.
- eMSAT-1: Understanding and Acting on the Results (December 1, 2015 - 11:30 a.m. PST / 2:30 p.m. EST) - The EDRM eDiscovery Maturity Self-Assessment Test (eMSAT-1) was designed to help you assess your organization’s level of e-discovery maturity. Creators of the eMSAT Tiana Van Dyk, Matthew Knouff and Brett Livingood will focus on using the results of that assessment to decide on next steps to improve processes.
- Using Advanced Analytics Techniques to Meet the Proportionality Requirements of the new Federal Rules (December 1, 2015 - 1 p.m. PST / 4 p.m. EST) - Proportionality is the new buzzword in discovery circles. Learn how the new proportionality rules might affect your cases and how advanced analytics techniques including timelines, visual analytics, faceted search and the latest Technology Assisted Review protocols can help you meet proportionality requirements while saving on e-discovery costs in the bargain. This discussion will be led by Bob Ambrogi and feature John Tredennick, Mark Noel and Gabe Luchetta – all from Catalyst. This session will be a live video conferencing roundtable on zoom.us.
