Full-service electronic data discovery provider Advanced Discovery today announced the acquisition of Millnet, the largest and longest established UK-headquartered eDiscovery and legal document services firm. In addition to greatly increasing the scale and reach of both organizations, the purchase further solidifies Advanced Discovery’s commitment to providing truly global services to its growing list of international clientele.

After the recent demise of the US-EU Safe Harbor agreement, which gave qualified US companies a safety net under EU data protection laws to move European’s personal data across the Atlantic, many US companies are considering keeping eDiscovery data in Europe. Millnet’s ISO 27001-certified data center in the UK gives Advanced Discovery customers the option to leave data in the EU as data protection legal requirements emerge in the coming months.
Providing eDiscovery services and technology to international law firms and their clients for over 15 years through offices in London and Dubai, the Millnet brand will be retained, with continuity of services to all clients, and will operate as Millnet, an Advanced Discovery company. Millnet’s team of experts includes solicitors, litigation support and digital forensic professionals, project managers and IT security experts. Their extensive experience specializes in UK eDisclosure and international eDiscovery litigation, investigative and regulatory matters -- including the stringent EU data privacy and protection mandates.
The expanded services offered by the combined companies will now include:
