Provides full portal functionality in the cloud with seamless migration path for clients
Handshake Software, Inc., the market leading, award-winning provider of SharePoint-based products and services to the legal market, today announced support for Microsoft Office 365 and SharePoint Online with its leading portal and integration products.
The new capabilities allow law firms to take advantage of SharePoint Online as part of Office 365 to deliver pages for matters, clients, and departments through integration with firms’ on premise and cloud-based systems including Aderant®, Elite®, iManage®, NetDocuments®, InterAction® and other mission critical applications. Handshake clients will be able to quickly migrate from on-premise SharePoint Portals or extranets to cloud-based versions without having to recreate their existing Handshake Software-based web parts and pages.
“These new capabilities will meet an increased demand from law firms moving to the Office 365 platform,” stated Douglas Horton, CEO and president of Handshake Software. “We have protected our clients investment in our software by providing an easy path to migrate their existing on-premise SharePoint to SharePoint Online in the future, without having to re-write their portals.”
Handshake Software’s unique architecture allows firms to use their custom web parts, Handshake integrations and security, whether in the Cloud or on premise. The Handshake Software/SharePoint Online capabilities are available immediately and several clients are currently in the implementation process. This includes Galindo Arias & Lopez which has already rolled out the SharePoint Online portal and is in production.
“We are excited to continually meet the range of customer requirements from on premise systems to the cloud,” said Glenn LaForce, Handshake Software’s executive vice president & chief strategy officer. “Our Office 365 and SharePoint Online strategy stays true to our mission to provide lawyers, CIOs and Knowledge Management professionals with one-stop KM information within one unified system.”
The Handshake Software team will be sharing best practices on its new Office 365/SharePoint Online capabilities and as part of the annual ILTA SharePoint/Office 365 Symposium being held on June 8-9 in Baltimore. Previously focused on educating legal technology professionals on the best business uses for SharePoint, the 9th annual Symposium has added educational content dedicated to Microsoft Office 365.
