Catalyst Increases Data Security Measures for E-Discovery

Catalyst, the company that designs, hosts and services the fastest and most scalable document repositories for e-discovery and regulatory compliance, today announced the introduction of two-factor authentication for additional layer of security for Insight and Insight Enterprise—Catalyst’s industry-leading e-discovery platforms.

This new feature requires users to provide a second level of secure authentication prior to logging into Insight. This ensures that, even if a user’s password is compromised, the account remains secure.

“Now more than ever, companies are looking for advanced levels of security for protecting important legal documents and matters,” said Larry Barela, Catalyst’s chief technology officer. “We are proud to be introducing application security that address those needs and helps ensure that our clients’ security concerns are addressed.” 

According to Verizon’s 2016 Data Breach Investigations Report, 63 percent of confirmed data breaches involved leveraging “weak/default/stolen passwords.” With two-factor authentication, unauthorized third parties are prevented from potentially gaining access to an Insight user’s personal sites. Users who opt into this feature will be able to use their mobile devices as their secondary source of authentication, improving security and simplifying the user experience.
