Select Legal Systems, suppliers of LAWFUSION, the popular legal practice management software for law firms, announced earlier today the appointment of a General Manager, Alex Smales, who brings a wealth of experience in IT, process improvement and facilities management to the growing business.
As the company celebrates its 25 year anniversary and 100% growth, having doubled turnover from £1M to £2M in the last 5 years, the co-owner/Directors Steve Dixon and Mike Craven decided it was time to create a new General Manager position to lead Team LAWFUSION.
Steve Dixon, co-owner/Director of Select Legal Systems Limited said, “Alex joins us at an exciting time. Our growth the last 5 years has been unprecedented. We moved into brand new offices in 2013 expecting them to suffice for 10 years but we are already at full capacity. All indications suggest that our growth will continue, and we are delighted to have become recognised as one of the most trusted software partners for law firms in the country, which was reflected in our recent client satisfaction survey results. Our commitment to customer service, innovation and information security management, with our ISO27001 certification achievements at both company and datacentre level, have all contributed to the solid reputation we have built. Alex’s appointment will ensure we continue to build on the solid foundations of the business and allow further growth, continued improvement and implementation of the exciting development plans we have for LAWFUSION over the next 5 years.”
Alex Smales, the new General Manager for Select said, “I will take full responsibility for fine tuning all of Select Legal’s business procedures across all departments as well as the facilities management for the business. Steve Dixon will continue to drive innovation and the development of the LAWFUSION software as well as the talent management and sales and marketing for the business. Mike Craven remains focused on finances and overseeing the smooth running of quality and compliance as part of service delivery. I am delighted to be joining such an innovative team at this crucial stage of growth and look forward to strengthening Select’s excellent levels of customer service.”
Select Legal Systems welcomed 32 new law firms to LAWFUSION in 2018 and increased the team by 9 employees. As the new year begins they have a number of software enhancements ready for release e.g. ‘Making Tax Digital’ functionality, expansion of accounting journal tools, siginifcant CRM enhancements and further team diary functionality. The Development Team are also currently busy adding additional features to the LAWFUSION mobile app for fee earners and they are currently recruiting for software developers, a new sales executive and a client account manager.
