An investment in digital transformation software which gives corporate clients real-time access to legal spend is seeing a return for a leading Midlands law firm.
FBC Manby Bowdler has completed a project to integrate its practice management system with a high-tech software solution that can support both matter management and legal spend process for clients.
Managing director Neil Lloyd said the investment in the Apperio tracking platform gives corporate clients working with multiple projects and legal teams complete transparency on spend.
“Last year, we invested in new case management software which has improved our processes, helping us to more effectively communicate and collaborate with our clients. What Apperio does is further build on that service level, giving in-house legal teams a real-time overview on costs.
“We are already seeing interest from both existing and potential clients on how, through Apperio, we can give a clear insight into what is being spent across all their ongoing matters. It is a digital solution which absolutely supports our commitment to clients to be transparent about what work is taking place and what that work is costing.”
The Apperio technology connects directly to law firms’ practice management systems to provide a live view of all matters, including unbilled work-in-progress and invoiced matters.
Neil added: “We were absolutely thrilled to be given such high praise for our client service in the Legal 500 Client Service Survey recently, but we are keenly aware that we cannot rest on our laurels,” said Neil.
“We are always looking to give our clients an even better service and Apperio, especially for our larger corporate and commercial clients, delivers benefits such as efficiency and improving productivity in their own legal and finance teams.”
