SOS boosts sector expertise as former PI lawyer joins the team

Emma Van Zyl has joined Solicitors Own Software (SOS) in the senior, customer-facing role of scripting consultant. Emma brings 18 years of legal sector expertise to SOS, where over 40% of employees have worked directly for law firms.

Emma’s career in the legal arena includes Legal Executive at Pannone and GLP Solicitors, after which she progressed to Associate & Chartered Legal Executive at Harris Fowler. With over nine years of service at Harris Fowler, Emma’s responsibilities grew to overseeing the firm’s case management system. Prior to this, she was a senior personal injury fee earner.

Bringing extensive hands-on experience to her role as scripting consultant, Emma will work with SOS clients to scope out requirements and adapt the case management and workflow elements of SOS Connect installations.

Emma comments: “My previous role evolved beyond the realms of fee earning and I could see I had an aptitude for business processes, technology and case management. This position at SOS combines all these skills and enables me to work with a broad range of progressive law firms.

“Bringing my specialist personal injury experience to SOS is another way I can ensure the legal knowledge I have developed over the years is well utilised.”
