To secure confidential information shared with external third parties

Egress Software Technologies, the leading provider of email and file encryption solutions to professional services firms, today announces the selection of Egress Switch by Hartnell Chanot & Partners in order to securely share and control confidential information with its clients and other external third parties.

As the largest firm of family law solicitors in the South West region, Hartnell Chanot & Partners has built their reputation on the excellence of their services, which extends to the protection of highly sensitive information that needs to be shared outside the firm’s secure networks. Dealing with a range of third party clients and partners, including police, courts, medical experts and other legal firms, Hartnell Chanot & Partners required a robust encryption solution that would secure shared information, whilst also integrating with existing work practices so that efficiency would not be compromised.

Prior to deploying Switch, the firm had relied on less secure methods for transferring large files. Not only was this a data security concern, but as multiple products were being used, it was difficult for the IT department to manage and control where information was being shared. As a result, auditing issues arose as there was no efficient way of tracking the flow of information in and out of the organisation, which if left unchecked, could have led to a data breach and compliancy concerns, particularly in the wake of the recent legislative changes from the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA).
