Phoenix Business Solutions, the premier provider of Knowledge Management and Enterprise Content Management software and consultancy, today announced that leading international legal and fiduciary services firm Bedell has successfully deployed Phoenix Office Centre for centralised template management within the Microsoft Office productivity suite.
With eight offices and over 300 personnel located across the globe, Bedell sought to address the challenge of maintaining consistent and efficient client service through standardised and streamlined document creation from templates leveraging centrally managed metadata.
Phoenix Office Centre supported Bedell’s existing template customisations by providing web-based administration, wizard-driven document creation, and a powerful deployment engine – all with seamless integration to their HP Autonomy WorkSite enterprise content and document management system.
Prior to implementing Phoenix’s wizard-driven document creation, Bedell’s IT team had to amend document templates on an individual basis; a lengthy job undertaken out of working hours. Using Phoenix Office Centre metadata changes are made centrally and automatically applied to all relevant templates which are available for all users when they next log on.
Stephen Chiang, Head of Group IT at Bedell explains: “In 2004 Phoenix created a template solution for Bedell's Windows XP and Office 2003 environment. The Bedell toolbar in Word was set up around a series of macros. In planning our migration to Windows 8 and Office 2010 we realised that the old macro and toolbar environment would no longer work so we needed to find a new method of delivering our templates.”
He continues: “Phoenix’s centralised template management has been proven to save us time and improve our IT efficiency. The new solution provides us with the ability to supply all of our users with current templates in our new IT environment and this is particularly important in order to support our brand and make it consistent across our sites. Phoenix has helped us introduce a new way of working that is both intuitive and fast, and it has been readily accepted across the firm."
The investment is recognition of the growing importance of technology in underpinning fundamental business processes and supporting the delivery of key services to Bedell’s clients.
