MSP re-certifies against the Cloud Industry Forum Code of Practice
Managed service provider and legal sector specialist e-know.net has successfully re-certified against the Cloud Industry Forum’s (CIF) Code of Practice, managed by APM Group, reaffirming its commitment to transparency, accountability and capability in the delivery of cloud services.
e-know.net is a UK-based managed service provider, delivering a range of outsourced solutions from bespoke Managed Desktops through to the delivery of enterprise software on a software-as-a-service basis. Established in 2000, e-know.net has experienced rapid growth, and now delivers managed hosted solutions, support services and business continuity services to approximately 10,000 users in over 20 countries around the world from its Tier 3 state-of-the-art data centre in the UK.
Having initially certified in 2013, e know.net has seen a distinct increase in the confidence of customers and prospects alike. Nigel Redwood, CEO, explained:
“The cloud industry has matured quickly over the last few years, and the cloud vs. on-premise argument has largely been won; the majority of businesses know what cloud is, and what it can do for them. But questions remain about the capabilities and credentials at the supplier level, and there is work to be done by the industry to ensure end user trust. This is why the CIF Code of Practice is so important and it is something that we are very pleased to be part of. Customers can immediately see that we are a responsible cloud provider, and get the reassurance they need that if they entrust their data over to us, it will be properly looked after.
“Certification has certainly boosted our position in the market, giving our customers and prospects confidence in our cloud services, and an extra edge in an increasingly competitive market. With this being the case, we didn’t have to think twice about recertifying when our initial term was up,” he continued.
The Code of Practice is a credible, certifiable tool that allows Cloud Service Providers (CSPs) to demonstrate that they meet specified requirements of transparency, accountability and capability, as prescribed by CIF. It aims to standardise enterprises offering cloud services to provide clarity, transparency and assurance to end users seeking to migrate to the cloud.
Richard Pharro, CEO of APM Group, concluded: “What the CIF Code of Practice offers CSPs, such as e-know.net, is the chance to demonstrate, with clarity, their ethics, practices and, most importantly, their commitment to a safe and secure cloud. By achieving the certification for a second time, e-know.net has demonstrated its commitment to best practice in the cloud and we would like to take this opportunity to congratulate them.”
