Time capture specialist Rekoop has announced further success in the Scottish market. Top ten legal firm Morton Fraser is set to roll out Rekoop to 140 users across offices in Edinburgh and Glasgow, integrating with a LexisNexis Axxia PMS.
The project will see the deployment of Desktop, the primary time recording interface; Digital Footprint, which monitors activity in the background and helps construct time sheets automatically; and Mobile for a mixed environment of iOS and BlackBerry.
Scott McClure, Morton Fraser’s Finance Director, comments: “We want to make time recording as easy as possible for our fee earners to allow them to focus on their legal work. With Rekoop we believe we have a straightforward, intuitive solution that will improve the accuracy of our time recording, minimising the effort required to capture that time. "
"It is very important that we offer transparency to our clients, which includes accurately capturing all of our time. Also, with so many matters now being billed on a fixed fee basis we need to be able to measure robustly how much time it is taking us to complete that work. Rekoop will help us with this."
Phil Wedgwood, Rekoop’s CEO, believes the trend for specialist solutions is only going to strengthen: “We don’t see any slow-down in the number of firms calling time on their PMS for time recording – the world’s changed but these systems haven’t really changed with it, and lawyers want the best tools for the job now, they want slick and fast and easy. Time is a very precious commodity in legal and the progressive firms certainly aren’t wasting any when it comes to making the switch.”
