Time capture specialist Rekoop is all set to match its recent deal record in the top tier in the increasingly active mid-tier. It has just announced further fruits from its Advanced Legal partnership, with two new signings: Manchester-based Turner Parkinson and Surrey’s Barlow Robbins.
Both roll-outs will comprise elements of Time Tracker - Rekoop’s time capture solution for Advanced Legal clients – including the Time Tracker Desktop, the primary time recording interface; Digital Footprint, which monitors activity in the background and helps construct timesheets automatically; and mobile applications, supporting both iOS and BlackBerry platforms. Turner Parkinson will see Time Tracker integrate with its Advanced Legal Evolution PMS, Barlow Robbins with its Legal Enterprise PMS. User numbers are 50 and 80 respectively.
Mark Openshaw-Blower, Turner Parkinson’s managing partner, is clear on the reasons for the adoption of the new system: “We’re no different from larger law firms in the way we view specialist time recording – it’s key to driving down leakage and building up a more accurate, more comprehensive performance picture, that we can in turn leverage for improved management information and decision making. And it’s also about supporting our staff with the best tools available, making the time recording process as easy, slick and efficient as possible, and stripping out the administrative effort traditionally associated with timesheets.
Barlow Robbins’ IT manager Jonathan Street adds: “Time Tracker has enabled us to capture time more accurately, yet reduce the time spent by lawyers in the process of recording it. Beyond the Advanced integration, Time Tracker is easy to use allowing lawyers to record time in whichever way they feel comfortable - and always with the knowledge that if they miss any entries they can look back at their working day, see all of their activity and convert this time to fill any gaps. We’re anticipating an early return on investment and see it as a hugely positive project for all sides of the business.”
Phil Wedgwood, Rekoop’s CEO, is not surprised with time recording’s emergence onto the mid-tier agenda: “The tide of top tier firms switching to dedicated solutions has started to flow much more swiftly over the past year so we’ve been expecting it to trickle down through the top 350. Both Turner Parkinson and Barlow Robbins share that big firm thinking, in seeing accurate time capture not just as a means to drive improved billing but as the basis for better financial and business intelligence - and while they may be in the vanguard for now, all the signs are that the rest are set to follow.”
