Shakespeares selects Quiss Technology as IT training provider
UK News

Quiss LogoLeading IT outsourcing specialist Quiss Technology has been appointed by top 60 UK law firm Shakespeares, to undertake all of the staff IT training needs across the firm’s eight offices.

The decision to outsource training was prompted by the firm’s recent growth and ambitious future plans, along with the need to integrate all parts of the businesses into Shakespeares’ developing systems to maintain the high quality service for which the firm is known.

Nick Hayne, Professional Services Manager at Quiss commented: “We are delighted to have been offered the opportunity to work with a firm of Shakespeares’ standing.

“This is more a co-sourcing agreement than a traditional outsourcing contract; although the trainers are employed by Quiss, they are permanently based at Shakespeares’ offices, undertaking training at the firm’s Birmingham and Leicester training centres.”

Ian Smit, Operations Director for Shakespeares commented: “The training of every employee in the efficient use of the applications and technology within our business, is key to improving personal productivity and ensuring our continuing success.

“Quiss has an impressive track-record in the legal sector and for delivering training across a range of sectors with similar challenges to those faced by law firms. Finding outsourcing partners with the skills, resources and service quality demonstrated by Quiss allows us to concentrate on the core aspects of our business, safe in the knowledge we have the support we need to allow us to pursue an ambitious growth strategy.

“Quiss has demonstrated its commitment to Shakespeares and the early signs are very positive.”

An important aspect of the service is the bespoke Shakespeare training portal, designed and built by the SharePoint team at Quiss, which forms part of the law firm’s intranet. The system lists all the available training sessions, outlines the content, the dates, times and location, along with details of the trainer delivering the session.

Individuals from across Shakespeares can choose and book sessions online that address their knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Office, together with line of business applications including the firm’s case management system.

Quiss and Shakespeares are working closely to develop training plans to ensure every individual within the business has at least one training session every six months. A large part of the induction training programme for new employees focusses on the technology within the business and maximising its use to drive efficiency.

“The portal is a major part of our service delivery,” continues Nick Hayne, “it’s important for users to see what’s available and be able to book appropriate sessions when it suits their workload and that of their team.

“We have designed an efficient, modular system that allows further expansion of the training plans, without Shakespeares having to worry about resourcing it – which is ideal for an ambitious firm seeking further opportunities to grow.”
