Time capture specialist Rekoop has announced the appointment of Anthony Hughes as a non-executive director as it bids to further consolidate its market leading position. As managing partner of Ricksons, Anthony led the firm’s merger with DWF, driving the integration project while also taking partner responsibility for DWF’s insurance division.
He then became CEO of Horwich Farrelly, with HF becoming one of the top ten legal providers to the insurance industry during his tenure.
Anthony now runs Jackson Hughes, a professional services consultancy that offers practical advice and strategic support to businesses within the legal, insurance and claims sectors. It’s the ‘poacher turned gamekeeper’ aspect that particularly appealed to Rekoop, as CEO Phil Wedgwood explains:
“With their non-exec picks, most tech businesses like ours would traditionally go with perhaps a VC type or an industry heavyweight, but for us it was about taking us closer to our market and getting an even better understanding of how they tick. Anthony himself has been on both sides of the fence now so has a very rounded perspective on the sector. That will help influence how we continue to develop not just our product but also our advisory work with clients on how they can best utilise the data we’re capturing for them. Anthony has years of experience within our sweet spot and with his observations and connections he’s already making a positive impact on the business.”
Adds Anthony: “I’m delighted to be working with a local supplier who are having such a global impact and to be in a position to help spread the word around next-generation time recording. I’ve been very impressed by the technology, enthused by the passion within the team and engaged by the messaging around time and business transformation. I hope that my experience and market knowledge will add a further layer to what is already a rich proposition and that I can bring some real value to the relationship.”
