iManage today announced that Pemberton Greenish LLP — a UK-based law firm specializing in Real Estate, Private Wealth, and Corporate law — has implemented iManage Work to manage its documents, emails, and other critical work product.
Since deploying iManage Work, the firm has achieved 100% user adoption and has approximately 95 users who rely on the system to quickly and easily find the files they need to carry out high-quality work on behalf of clients.
The firm had looked to make a change because its prior practice management system, Envision from Thomson Reuters, which had a built-in document and email management module, was being end-of-lifed — a challenge faced by other leading law firms in the UK. More than 10 law firms have now made the switch from Envision to iManage.
When making the decision to move to iManage Work, the firm evaluated several leading solutions, including a cloud-based competitor. Ultimately, Pemberton Greenish was convinced by iManage Work’s ability to seamlessly integrate with and migrate content from Envision to deliver a new integrated solution to the firm based around the concept of the electronic matter file. “We knew that any Work Product Management system we selected would need to work with whatever our next practice management system would be,” said Michael Kinnear, IT Manager at Pemberton Greenish. “It became clear fairly quickly that iManage was our best option and that Tiger Eye had the experience and business knowledge of assisting us with the project.”
More than improving internal processes, deploying iManage Work has assisted with recruitment by allowing the firm to give lawyers access to tools they already know and trust. “We get a lot of applicants coming to us from bigger firms, looking to work in a more bespoke practice,” explained Kinnear. “We found that everyone we’ve hired in the last three years or so has used iManage at their previous place of employment. Having iManage Work keeps us on par with what those larger firms can offer their employees, technologically speaking. As a side benefit, there’s also less training involved when we get a new start since they’re already familiar with the product.”
Pemberton Greenish worked with Tiger Eye Consulting to get up and running on iManage Work quickly and easily; the on-premises installation took four months from beginning to go-live date. The change included the migration of two million legacy documents, and the migration was carried out without a hitch. That stockpile of documents, cases, and emails can now be effortlessly searched, accessed, and retrieved, enabling the firm to operate more efficiently and provide a better level of service.
“Busy professionals don’t have time to go through their inboxes to try and find an email or a document that they may or may not have sent,” said Geoff Hornsby, iManage’s general manager, EMEA. “They want to go to a single workspace for the matter, where all their work product is in one place — and they can find what they need. With their successful use of iManage Work for Work Product Management, Pemberton Greenish is giving their professionals the tools they need to be more efficient, effective — and ultimately, valuable — every day.”
