eSentio Technologies, a leading Legal IT Strategic Consulting and Implementation company serving the world's largest law firms, has announced that Martin (Marty) Metz has joined the consultancy as its Chief Innovation Officer.
Marty has had a distinguished career in legal IT management and is best known for his thought leadership within the Legal CIO Community. Marty has pioneered a number of IT transformations, particularly in the areas of Document Management, Enterprise Search, Security, and the adoption of Cloud-based Technologies.
As Chief Information Officer for three AM Law 100 firms, he developed innovative IT strategic plans that allowed his firms to make thoughtful long term investment decisions. He has overseen the implementation of responsive security platforms that effectively address the growing security threats and challenges facing every global law firm. He was instrumental in the site selection and opening of a new Operations Center in Nashville, TN, which transformed how IT support and legal services were delivered at his firm. In addition to his CIO roles, Marty founded a company dedicated to building software solutions for some of the largest law firms in the US, UK, and Canada, where he provided strategic IT consulting and implementation guidance.
Yvonne Dornic, eSentio's CEO, stated, "We are very excited to have Marty join our team. His reputation as a thought leader and commitment to improving IT services for the legal industry has always been valued by fellow CIOs and the vendor community at large. As Chief Innovation Officer for eSentio, Marty will collaborate with law firm leaders and strategic partners to identify trends, pain points and emerging needs to drive the creation of innovative solutions to meet those needs. Marty brings a unique set of experiences and expertise that will benefit our clients, drive innovation, and further expand our thought leadership in the legal community.
"I am fortunate to have such a great opportunity with eSentio,” commented Marty. “I have always been impressed by their ingenuity, leadership in the market, and caliber of their people. As a client, I have experienced first-hand the quality of their work, out-of-the-box thinking, and dedication to exceptional client service. I look forward to working with the outstanding group of consultants at eSentio to drive innovation and add value for my colleagues in the legal market.
This role will allow me to engage with CIOs and other leaders as they face continuing change and challenges in Legal IT. Whether it is building a stronger security posture, implementing information governance policies and systems, or developing new strategies for the future, I very much want to make those engagements successful and sustaining.”
Marty was honored by the American Lawyer Media as IT Director of the Year in 2011. In 2014, he was also honored by the Nashville Business Journal as CIO of the Year for his work in launching his firm’s new Operations Center.
