Traveling Coaches, the internationally recognized training, application configuration and user adoption consulting partner to law firms and corporate legal departments, announced that Sacramento-based Downey Brand LLP purchased a combination of user adoption products, configuration services, user training and post-deployment support for the Firm’s upgrade to Microsoft Office 2010 and migration to Open Text eDOCS.
Downey Brand also purchased Traveling Coaches’ CLASS and CLASSe content for the Firm’s on-going technology training program.
“Our successful deployment of Windows 7/Office 2010/eDOCS would not have been possible without the thorough project management, comprehensive curriculum and dynamic training team provided by Traveling Coaches,” said Michael Libby, IS Director for Downey Brand. “In the end, we finished under budget; earlier than expected and received positive feedback from both staff and attorneys”.
Based on Traveling Coaches’ renowned best practices for user adoption of complex technology, the Office 2010 User Adoption Materials are a collection of communications, marketing, pre-learning, classroom and floor support tools which are legal-specific and delivered in soft copy for easy customization by law firms. A project team composed of Downey Brand staff and Traveling Coaches team members customized the materials and communication pieces to address the goals for the project which were:
“Their goal was to provide lots of learning moments while also building excitement,” added Gina Buser, Chief Executive Officer for Traveling Coaches. “Our materials and experience couples with their creativity saved the Firm a tremendous amount of money and time.”
Traveling Coaches’ industry-leading CLASS (Continued Learning and Software Skills) program is a collection of modular, legal specific and customizable technology training materials. Since its introduction ten years ago, the popular CLASS program has been implemented by 246 law firms and corporate legal departments consisting of more than 124,788 users. As CLASS provides the materials for traditional classroom instruction, CLASSe facilitates a different style of training: just-in-time eLearning. A collection of short, interactive, online lessons called CLASSe Briefs, this program is ideal for busy lawyers and staff that need to learn how to accomplish specific tasks “on the fly.”
CLASS currently consists of 409 classroom modules and CLASSe includes 3,223 eLearning lessons, both products covering topics from Microsoft Office applications to document management systems and Word productivity tools. The materials are customizable and designed to be used for university-style training programs. CLASSe Briefs are drawn from CLASS curriculum and offer the same high level of quality and consistency. By purchasing both products, Downey Brand will provide learners with a consistent training message through the instructor, reference materials and eLearning lessons.
