Client demand and comprehensive text analytics were key drivers for New York firm
kCura , developers of the e-discovery software Relativity , today announced that Patterson Belknap Webb & Tyler LLP has licensed Relativity for in-house use, with hosting and infrastructure provided by Iris Data Services. Patterson Belknap has more than 200 attorneys and 20 practice groups representing a diverse client base.
As a fully featured, web-based e-discovery platform, Relativity allows Patterson Belknap to create and automate custom workflows and take advantage of a complete set of text analytics capabilities—including email threading and computer-assisted review.
“We’re always looking for ways to make attorney review time more effective for our clients,” said Rachelle Rennagel, director of legal services at Patterson Belknap. “Relativity’s near-duping and email threading are fantastic. We’re excited to use those on every case. For us, it’s a no-brainer.”
Additionally, Patterson Belknap manages cases of all sizes, and wanted a platform that could fit the needs of their diverse client base.
“A large number of clients control their own e-discovery decisions, and Relativity is the common denominator across the board for what they want to use,” Rachelle said. “It’s a universal platform—and that unanimity in this industry says a lot to us.”
“We look forward to hosting Relativity for Patterson Belknap under our managed discovery program, Iris Discovery Management," said Major Baisden, president of Iris Data Services. "Our technical expertise will bolster the firm’s litigation support services to their clients while reducing their costs."
