QuisLex, Inc. a leading provider of legal process outsourcing services, announces the issuance on December 29, 2015 of U.S. Patent No. 9,223,858, entitled “System and Method to Determine Quality of a Document Screening Process” issued in the names of Sirisha Gummaregula, Chief Operating Officer, and Sreekanth Dharmakari, Vice President, Business Process.
Broadly speaking, the patent covers a document review quality process that produces acceptable levels of accuracy with speed and efficiency. The process ensures the highest quality levels by defining and measuring errors and other metrics, performing related analyses, calibrating results, and analyzing deviations and similarities. QuisLex’s document review process also includes sampling strategies associated with document selection and prioritization as well as supporting statistically valid sampling to defensibly segregate and remove non-responsive documents.
Ms. Gummaregula is the recent winner of the National Law Journal Litigation Trailblazer Award for her work in utilizing quantitative metrics to support decisions in managed document review projects, and notes that “Lawyers need to get comfortable using statistics, process discipline and technology to effectively manage large-scale litigation and corporate matters.”
QuisLex, which is widely regarded for its quantified quality processes, is proud that the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has acknowledged the novelty and inventiveness of these processes. QuisLex will continue to strive to remain at the forefront of quality in the legal process outsourcing industry.
