Thomson Reuters Elite, part of Thomson Reuters Legal, today announced that full service law firm Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky, and Popeo, P.C. has officially gone live on Business Development Premier (BDP). After a successful Beta program, the existing Enterprise™ client rolled out Business Development Premier in order to centralize critical client relationship data within its core technology platform.
The firm has also decided to integrate the solution with its financial management technology once it transitions to 3E®. Both solutions are integral components of the Elite Enterprise Business Management Solution, built to help firms manage all operational aspects of the business.
“Our decision to invest in Business Development Premier was driven by the fact that Thomson Reuters owned all of the core products (ContactNet, Thomson Reuters Company Profile, and Elite) that would be combined into the BDP platform.” said Amy Fowler, Chief Marketing Officer at Mintz Levin. “Today we are thrilled to have all of our contacts, relationship information, experience records, pitches/rfps, and referral sources in an easy to navigate system. It is truly helping our business development team get smarter about client relationships across the firm.”
Contacts and relationship information (who knows who) synch with BDP from attorney’s contacts, email traffic patterns, calendars, and client relationship management (CRM) data, with no manual entry required. Although contact information is compiled from individuals’ contact lists, the centralized data is not pushed back to the attorneys outlook contacts, maintaining the integrity of their personal directories. “One of the key differentiators from previous CRM products is the one-way pull of the contact information into BDP. It does not push back to the attorney’s outlook contacts, thus eliminating many of the problems typically associated with traditional CRMs.” says, Noel Watkins, Mintz Levin’s Marketing and Technology Manager.
One of the features Mintz Levin appreciates is the experience module. Prior to Business Development Premier, Mintz Levin had manually maintained the firm’s experience for each practice area in spreadsheets. It was difficult to search across practices and challenging to get a comprehensive and accurate view of the firm’s experience. Business Development Premier has since enabled the firm to consolidate the entirety of the firm’s experience data into a single database that can be searched holistically.
The firm is also using BDP’s Opportunities module to capture client development activity. Pitches and RFPs are tracked and analyzed for win/loss ratios, practice and geographic distribution, and sales cycle. In addition, the firm is tracking all referrals, from other law firms and service providers, in BDP’s Referral module.
“Business Development Premier has helped Mintz Levin accomplish the task of replacing its manual approach to contact relationship, experience management and sales and referral tracking with an easy-to-use automated solution,” said Elisabet Hardy, vice president of Product Management at Elite. “However, with Business Development Premier, Mintz Levin has enhanced its business development efforts with far more than a traditional CRM system; the paradigm-shifting approach of Business Development Premier delivers even greater market value through its ability to combine enterprise relationship management (ERM) technology, marketing automation, and experience management. We look forward to helping the firm excel on all fronts.”
Business Development Premier combines ERM technology, marketing automation, and experience management to drive more successful marketing and business development initiatives. As an integral part of the Elite Enterprise Business Management Solution, Business Development Premier provides advanced functionality to help law firms and professional service organizations achieve significantly higher return on investment from their marketing and business development activities.
