Rocket Matter, the pioneering cloud-based law practice management software, today announces powerful new additions to its leading time tracking and invoicing functionality. The Atlas 1.1 release includes new tax functionality, multiple timers, an improved onboarding experience with gamification, and customizable dashboards.
Rocket Matter continues a very transformative 2016 – first, in February, with the introduction of QuickBooks Online integration and Rocket Matter Payments. Then, in March, the company announced Matter Templates and Rocket Matter Atlas, a complete, modern redesign of the company’s user interface.
“Let’s be honest: Taxes are not enjoyable to talk about in any way. They’re even less fun to tally up on an invoice. Rocket Matter now takes care of this task for you,” says Larry Port, Rocket Matter’s CEO and founder. “We rolled out some exciting stuff too – a compelling gaming system for our new customers that makes learning Rocket Matter entertaining, along with some cool new stuff our customers have been asking for.”
Rocket Matter is widely considered the easiest and most powerful time and billing program for legal professionals – yet it is also still an incredibly powerful business application which requires learning.
After working with thousands of law firms, we’ve identified training as the one thread that allows some law firms to succeed.
In an effort to make training effortless for busy legal professionals, Rocket Matter rolled out a gamification system for new firms. New users earn coins as they complete new tasks, and are gradually guided through the application as they gain more confidence using the product.
As users collect more coins, they are able to achieve higher levels as they become more advanced users.
Rocket Matter’s new tax feature allows law firms to define as many custom tax rates as they have jurisdictions. When a legal professional adds a tax rate to a matter, Rocket Matter automatically calculates how much the client owes, making invoicing a breeze.
On Rocket Matter’s batch billing feature, users can see how much tax is owed across all of their pending invoices. Syncing with QuickBooks Online automatically includes taxes. Rocket Matter’s powerful reporting, whether in dashboard views or Excel-exportable formats, gives users an overall sense of taxes generated across all of their invoices.
Many Rocket Matter attorneys, plagued by constant interruptions as part of their daily life, requested the company to build a multiple timers feature. Rocket Matter allows users to run a timer, then pause it when they get interrupted, start another one for a different matter, and come back to the original timer later. Billable time gets tracked on each timer and, in turn, seamlessly appears on an invoice.
Timekeepers can run two, three, ten, or as many multiple timers as they’d like.
Rocket Matter now allows users to customize their User Dashboards to be task-centric or calendar centric. Different legal professionals have different workflows, so the product was designed to help people work in the way that makes them most efficient.
In addition to toggling a calendar or task-centric user dashboard, users can also enable our new Matter Quick Add widget, a major time saver for high volume firms.
The new Atlas monthly firm-wide calendar now has two view settings. For users who like to view their calendar in one clear, elegant-looking size, “fit events to view” provides a “more” link if not enough events can fit on a particular day within a month. Also, “show all events” will stretch the size of the page to show all events without having to click on the “more” link.
