Dynamic attorney and veteran legal tech marketer joins leading global software company
AccessData Group, a leading provider of integrated digital forensics and e-discovery software, today announced that legal industry veteran Carolyn Casey has been appointed as senior director of industry relations.
In this newly created position at AccessData, Casey will help the company interact more closely with key members of the market to discuss trends and challenges important to AccessData’s client base, while adding transparency around the company’s vision.
“Carolyn is a well-known and well-respected expert in the industry so we are thrilled to have her on our team,” said Lori Tyler, vice president of global marketing at AccessData. “We place a high value on open, honest and transparent conversation with customers, and Carolyn will be a strong voice at the company on what we see in the market, what customers tell us about their challenges and how we align our strategic priorities for the future.”
Prior to joining AccessData, Casey led her own consulting firm, providing marketing and product strategy services to companies in the legal technology space. Previously, she served as a marketing executive with three leading e-Discovery software companies and managed global value added reseller channels for technology companies. Carolyn practiced law at Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison in San Francisco, after working as a legal assistant at Covington & Burling and Skadden Arps in Washington, D.C.
“I see so much convergence around the need to quickly find, forensically collect and analyze information across an organization to make decisions on internal, regulatory and legal inquiries,” said Casey. “The response timelines are getting tighter as data types and mobility keep expanding, making it harder and harder for enterprises to manage legal and compliance risks. AccessData’s combination of incredible depth in digital forensics with speed and analytics in end-to-end e-Discovery is really exciting to me – it’s the holy grail for global corporate and government digital organizations going forward.”
Casey founded the Law Firm Information Governance Symposium while at Iron Mountain, and has been a featured speaker at many major conferences and roadshows on e-Discovery, governance and legal technology. She earned her undergraduate degree from Stanford University and her law degree from American University in Washington, D.C. Her unique career as a “BigLaw” attorney, in-house counsel and corporate marketing executive was profiled earlier this year in Legaltech News.
“AccessData will reach an important milestone next year, marking 30 years in business,” said Tyler. “It’s more important than ever that we connect with our customers on their current and future digital discovery directions as we reinvent AccessData for the next 30 years. Carolyn will be an important part of that customer engagement.”
