to Streamline and Consolidate Firm-wide Docketing and Calendaring
American LegalNet, Inc. (ALN) announced today that Blank Rome LLP has purchased its eDockets court-rules-based calendaring and docketing systems software as well as Docket Direct local/federal court feeds and Smart Dockets™ court date calculator app.
Blank Rome also bought the eDockets/iManage Document Management System integration and national court rules as part of their subscription.
After acquiring Dickstein Shapiro in February 2016, Blank Rome had several different docketing and calendar applications including two versions of Aderant CompuLaw, MA 3000 and CourtAlert. Maintaining many different systems was not sustainable, and merging them together would have been complicated and expensive. Instead Blank Rome decided to buy American LegalNet’s software, a comprehensive system which encompassed court rules from all U.S. jurisdictions.
Blank Rome’s CIO Larry Liss explained: “We were reorganizing the whole docketing function and wanted to consolidate on one system for docketing and calendaring. After careful review, the firm selected American LegalNet’s product suite including eDockets, Docket Direct and Smart Dockets. American LegalNet handles all jurisdictions and will make our firm more efficient. The software also integrated with our Thomson Elite 3E financial system which was a priority.”
Karen Jablonski, Senior Director of Attorney and Client Services at Blank Rome remarked: “I spoke with several references from American LegalNet’s impressive client list and heard a lot of honest, positive feedback. American LegalNet can service our firm on a national basis, and using eDockets will open up new possibilities for Blank Rome to use its calendaring function in other practice areas. Also, we will make the process much faster - eDockets calendar updates take less than 30 minutes, dramatically faster than the 3 hours our incumbent system requires. eDockets will also increase our attention to risk management so we don’t miss critical dates which pleases our clients and our professional liability insurance carriers, too.”
Erez Bustan, CEO and Founder of ALN, said: “We are excited to have Blank Rome as a new client for American LegalNet. Our team is currently working to ensure they have a successful conversion and rollout of our software. We look forward to collaborating with them since we view clients as valuable partners who actively participate in the development process.”
