Traveling Coaches announced the company has again been recognized as the Innovative Consultant of the Year by the International Legal Technology Association. The Distinguished Peer Awards recognize ILTA peers who have delivered great business value and transformational impact through their innovations and implementations.
ILTA is an association of law firms, government and corporate legal departments founded to explore and share information on the effective use of technology in the legal profession. Members include firms of all sizes, state and federal agencies, military JAG, and in-house legal departments. Premiering in 2010, the Distinguished Peer Awards have become tradition at the group’s annual global conference, ILTACON.
“The award honors their exceptional work and innovative approaches to learning,” said Randy Mayes, Executive Director of ILTA. “Traveling Coaches are an integral part of the legal community and have contributed enormously to the success of our member firms. I celebrate their continued distinction for innovative service delivery.”
Traveling Coaches was chosen Innovative Consultant of the Year in recognition of the company’s Certified Legal Trainer Program. Developed at the request of the most forward thinking law firms, the 6-week professional development program is tailored for legal trainers, exposing them to current adult learning theory, needs analysis, learner engagement, change management, effective facilitation, and value measurement. Certified trainers are able to think outside the traditional classroom to deliver a variety of highly engaging and effective learning experiences with measurable value to their firms.
Unlike traditional law firm classroom training, the CLTP participants don’t go to class – the class comes to them. To illustrate a modern blended learning program, students are immersed in a social learning experience that connects them with instructors and other students in virtual classrooms, peer to peer discussion boards, video presentations, targeted reading, and an advanced learning portal. There is also the chance to demonstrate what they learned when students meet at Traveling Coaches’ Dallas offices for three days of face to face time.
“We constantly challenge participants to seek the most appropriate and effective solution for each unique learning opportunity,” added Eileen Whitaker, Senior Learning & Change Management Consultant for Traveling Coaches. “Graduates are less the sage on the stage and more the guide on the side. They use effective strategies which both set conditions for learning to happen and optimize learning transfer.”
This is the sixth time in the seven-year history of the Distinguished Peer Awards that Traveling Coaches has been an award finalist. In 2012 the company took home top honors as both Innovative Consultant and Vendor Thought Leader of the Year. In 2013, Traveling Coaches was selected Innovative Solution Provider becoming the first vendor to collect all three awards.
“We are so very thankful to the ILTA members and staff for their recognition of our hard work,” said Gina Buser, Chief Executive Officer for Traveling Coaches. “We have long relied on their input, feedback and support to focus the incredible talents of our consultants, developers and thought leaders. It is our pleasure to provide highly valued products and services to the ILTA community.”
The award gala was August 30 at the Gaylord National hotel outside of Washington DC.
