Thomson Reuters today announced new and enhanced capabilities for its market-leading e-billing and matter management solution, Thomson Reuters Legal Tracker™ (formerly Serengeti Tracker™), including the availability of in-country data residency for customers in Canada.
Canadian organizations looking for a better way to manage legal matters, monitor and control outside counsel spend, and leverage the power of the cloud will now be able to do so while keeping their data in-country. To accommodate Canadian data sovereignty requirements, businesses and organizations can now opt to store their Tracker data in Microsoft® Azure® data centres in Toronto or Quebec City.
These data centres offer high-performance hosting and are fully compliant with both ISO/IEC 27018 cloud privacy standards and Thomson Reuters data management and security practices. They also provide scalability in order to meet clients’ evolving business needs.
In addition, Canadian customers will notice a number of improvements to their Legal Tracker experience, including enhanced currency and number formatting preferences, support for Canadian-specific tax types, and the ability to assign accounting codes per tax type. Coming soon in 2017, Legal Tracker will also be available in French, and users will be able to utilize company-supplied currency conversion rates.

Thomson Reuters Legal Tracker is web-based software used to manage matters, invoices, budgets, status reports, and documents from outside counsel firms. Legal Tracker holds the largest collection of e-billing, matter management, and live-rate analytics information, with detailed data on lawyer performance that includes costs, staffing, duration, predictive accuracy, and evaluations by clients.
