kCura, developers of the e-discovery software Relativity, today announced LDiscovery and Reed Smith are the winners of the 2016 Relativity Innovation Awards at Relativity Fest.
The Relativity Innovation Awards is an annual competition celebrating the organizations that build applications and integrations to extend the functionality of Relativity—the platform used by corporations, law firms, and government agencies to manage electronic evidence in litigation, investigations, and beyond. Judges selected solutions that streamline processes, solve complex workflow needs, or create an altogether new solution that positively impacts business strategy. Winners were awarded in three categories: Best Service Provider Solution, Best Law Firm Solution, and Community Choice Solution.
LDiscovery was named Best Service Provider Solution and was also voted Community Choice Solution by the Relativity community for its A/V Suite for Relativity, an application that simplifies the review of multimedia files using a proprietary plugin for the Relativity document viewer. A/V Suite also gives users the ability to redact audio files, making a previously impossible task not only possible, but simple.
In the Best Law Firm Solution category, Reed Smith won for its Consent Tracker. The tool was developed when a client wanted to sell several business units, and Reed Smith needed to quickly identify all of their contracts that would require third-party consent, with the goal of prioritizing which business units should be sold first. They built an application on Relativity to track the status of consent from required parties, and used analytics to group and manage similar types of consent requirements in one place. Using this tracking solution, they completed an analysis that should have taken six months in one and saved their client $3 to $5 million.
kCura Vice President of Engineering Perry Marchant announced the winners at Relativity Fest, the annual legal technology conference held October 9 to 11 in Chicago. More than 1,800 members of the Relativity community attended the event, where LDiscovery and Reed Smith demonstrated their winning innovations during the awards ceremony.
“I’m so excited to congratulate LDiscovery and Reed Smith as this year’s Relativity Innovation Awards winners,” said Marchant. “We received so many great entries from our community, and it was inspiring to see how creative our customers and partners are in extending Relativity to solve unique challenges in e-discovery and beyond. The winning solutions stood out as offering tremendous value to Relativity users.”
